Shooting Stars – October 2020

Shooting Stars Newsletter – Autumn 2020

 Welcome back.

We hope you all had a great summer.  It is lovely to be back and welcome back lot of returning children from before lockdown who have embraced the changes to our routine and settled back in very quickly.   We also welcome all our new children who have started with us.  They have taken everything in their stride, coming into a new environment and have amazed us with how well they have transitioned into the setting.  There is such as buzz back in the pre-school which is lovely to see and hear.

Thank you to all our parents

We would like to thank you all for your continuing support.  We are doing everything we can to ensure your child is kept safe.  We know how hard it is leaving your child at the door, each and every one of you are doing amazing well.  We can promise you that as soon as the children come in after washing their hands, they are happy and off playing.  Please ensure the 2-metre social distancing rule is kept outside while dropping off and collecting your child.  Please do not cluster around the door, instead please could you stand one behind the other.

Parent partnership

If you would like to discuss anything with us, we can arrange a telephone call or a virtual meeting through Teams.  Therefore, please inform a member of staff and we can arrange a convenient time for us both.

Covid-19  –   Please keep in touch and let us know if your child is not feeling well or has any symptoms relating to Coronavirus. Please do not bring your child if they have a high temperature, a new persistent cough or have lost their sense of taste and smell.

If your family have been identified as needing to isolate and seek testing, please let the setting know immediately.

What to provide for your child

To ensure your child is prepared for the session please

  • bring a named bag containing spare clothes, sunhat, sunscreen and wellies.
  • Weather appropriate – your child must come in with sunscreen already applied on a sunny day.
  • Children’s shoes must have closed toes to ensure their safety, please do not send your child in crocs or sandals.
  • bring a drink bottle with water.
  • If your child has lunch at pre-school please provided a hard-back lunch box with a healthy lunch inside
  • A jumper, the weather is intermittently getting cooler right now and as we have the door to outside open for most of the day, the children playing in the rooms can become chilly when sitting and reading etc.
