Caring for the Planet, Supporting Our Children’s Future
At Stars Day Nurseries, sustainability is an essential part of how we care, teach, and lead. Through our Aspire for Sustainability approach, we are committed to taking positive climate action, reducing our environmental impact, and helping children become thoughtful, responsible citizens of the future.
Our Sustainability Vision
Our Sustainability and Climate Action Plan underpins practice across all Stars settings and is reviewed regularly to ensure we continue to improve and lead by example.
Each of our nurseries has a dedicated Sustainability Lead who:
- Champions environmentally responsible practice.
- Supports staff, children, and families in sustainable learning
- Regularly reviews actions within their setting to drive continuous improvement.
Our approach is underpinned by the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) agreed upon by the United Nation (2025) in their 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Inspiring Children to Care for the Planet
We believe children are never too young to learn how their actions affect the world around them. Sustainability is embedded within everyday learning experiences so children can:
- Understand how to save energy and water.
- Learn about recycling, reducing waste, and reusing materials.
- Explore nature, weather, and seasonal change.
- Develop respect for living things and the environment.
Through play, routines, and real-life experiences, children build confidence, empathy, and a strong sense of responsibility for the world they are growing up in.
