What a year it’s been for us here at Stars Day Nurseries! Not only did we have a wonderful time looking after the little ones at each day nursery in Peterborough, we also won a few awards while doing so.
Daynurseries.co.uk organises annual awards recognising stand-out childcare providers located across the UK. Instead of relying on judges’ opinions to decide which nurseries are worthy of an award, prizes are issued based on reviews from parents and carers.
Based on real feedback from families with children at our nurseries, we were placed among the country’s Top 20 Large Nursery Groups. To be placed among the top 20 is an enormous achievement, and one we’re very proud of. It just goes to show that hard work does pay off – well done to our amazing team!
The celebrations don’t end there, though. Little Stars Day Nursery was also shortlisted – and ended up as a finalist – in this year’s Nursery World Nursery of the Year Award, sponsored by Childcare.co.uk.
The shortlist was assembled by an experienced panel of judges, each representing a different area and specialism of the nursery sector. They consider each nursery’s objectives, available resources, and budget when deciding who to recognise.
The judges categorised Little Stars Day Nursery as ‘Highly Commended’, praising our proprietary ASPIRE curriculum, the way we involve families in what we do and even our sustainability initiatives.
Little Stars manager, Ashley Bereznyckyj, also took home the ‘Covid-19 Hero of the Year’ prize at the Nursery World awards ceremony. During the pandemic, our nursery was selected as a hub for key workers in Peterborough. It was Ashley’s job to keep the nursery operational during lockdown, overseeing the care of children whose parents were classed as ‘key workers.’ Her rapid response and quick-thinking leadership offered those parents a great deal of comfort and reassurance, and her award was very well deserved.
Manager of our Shooting Stars Pre-School, Sallyann Frisby, was shortlisted for the Manager of the Year award too! Congratulations to both Ashley and Sallyann for an amazing year.
