Newsletter – Autumn 2020
Bright Stars
We would like to begin the term by welcoming all our new children to the Bright Stars Family and welcoming back our term time children.
We appreciate these are strange times and we will do our upmost to support you all with new transitions and routines.
Key Carer’s:
Our new children will be allocated a key carer who will support your child with settling and routines, learning care and development. If you are not sure who this is then please let us know and we can clarify this with you.
Outdoor Play:
We would ask that all children bring appropriate outdoor clothing for outdoor play and for exploring our Forest School Philosophy. We would include suitable waterproof coat, wellies and hat which are labelled with your child’s name,
As who knows what the British weather will be like daily!!
Due to health and safety children are not to wear open sandals at nursery or crocs please. In hot weather we would ask that children do not wear tops which are strappy to protect their skin from the sun’s rays.
Sun cream needs to be applied before nursery and will be topped up during the day.
The children would normally experience free flow with peers but due to the current pandemic situation the children have been allocated outdoor play times and will be in room bubbles only.
Arrival’s and Departure:
We ask that you please be patient with us at drop off and collection times and keep to a 2 meter distance at drop off and collection times and only 1 parent/carer be in the gated area at once. We apologize for the inconvenience, but this is to protect everyone and keep the children as safe as possible.
Whilst in the gated area please support your child and the team by sanitizing hands.
Car park – please enter and depart from the nursery in a safe manner.
Nappy Items and Spare Clothes:
Please make sure you bring in spare clothes for your child in case of spillages or leaks, along with an adequate supply of nappies and wipes when requested.
Nursery Fees:
Fees need to be paid promptly so as not to incur any late fees. All financial matters are dealt with by Stars Finance Manager – Betty.
Book Bag for 2021 – School Leavers:
All children that will be starting school Sept 2021 will be issued with a reading book and a book bag shortly. This will be changed with your child weekly. They will also be given rhymes to learn at home. This is not a must it’s just one of the steps to help prepare them for their next journey – big school.
Celebrating the Children’s Achievement:
We believe it’s really important that as well as guiding the children we celebrate their individual achievements. At Bright Stars we have a Star of the Week in each home-base, as well as celebrating milestones and smaller steps for all our children. Please let us know if they attend other clubs and things they may have achieved. You can let us know through the baby days app.
Family Photo’s:
For the children sometimes they can find the day long and not seeing their family hard, we find it really helps the children settle if they can see a family picture on the family board in their room. If you would like to email one we can print it for you – please send it to: Bright@starsdaynurseries.
Packed Lunches:
Food – please be aware we have children with severe nut allergies. So please be aware of this if you are bringing in a lunch box.
No other food items are allowed in the building – such as birthday cakes. These however can be purchased in by the nursery with 1 weeks’ notice.
Funded Children:
All Funded children need to bring in evidence/proof of age (Birth Certificate or Passport) and sign their funding forms, please.
Your Contact Details:
Please keep the nursery informed of any changes to your contact details.
Sickness in Session:
At this time, it is paramount that if your child has COVID symptoms that they DO NOT attend nursery. You will need to be tested and isolate as appropriate.
This is the same for anyone in your household and if you have visited someone with symptoms. This is so that we can protect all the children and staff.
Symptoms are: High temperature in line with the NHS website or a new continuous cough or loss of taste of smell.
If your child starts to show symptoms whilst in session they will be isolated from peers and will be requested to be collected immediately. Parents will need to get the whole family tested and isolate.
We would ask that you contact the nursery to confirm the result of the test and to discuss what happens next.
Thank you for your time and patience:
We apologize for all the additional rules and regulations at this time, but we have to follow Government Guidelines. We thank you for your patience.
We do have a copy of the guidelines if requested.
Please work with us to make this as smooth as possible for all our little Bright Star’s .
We look forward to watching your child grow and develop with their Bright Stars Family.
