Bright Stars – March 2021

Welcome to our March Newsletter

Staff changes/news

Amy will be on annual leave for 2 weeks in March.

As you are not always getting to see all staff members due to the pandemic, we will be getting to know 1 staff member in each monthly newsletter. This month’s member of staff is Beth. Beth is a level 3 practitioner who works in the baby room.

New government guidance:

From the 8th March Schools will be reopening, we know that some of the children who are staying at home at the moment may decide to return to nursery that week. Please can you contact us if this is the case so we can ensure we have the correct amount of staff to remain on ratio.

With the new guidance we are also able to meet one other person from another household outside. Please remember that we are not allowed to mix indoors with people who are not in your household.

Please can we remind you all that masks must be worn when dropping off your children and collecting.

Arriving at nursery

Please can you ring the doorbell when you are arriving at the front door, as we do not always see parents through the window due to us being busy working and taking phone calls.

No nuts!

A reminder that we are strictly a no nut setting, please bare this in mind when making your child’s packet lunch.

Appropriate footwear

Please can you ensure that if your children are coming into nursery with wellies on that they have a pair of normal shoes for being indoors. Wellies can be rather heavy on the feet especially if they are in them all day and can cause children discomfort.

Absence

Please inform the office by 9am (or 2pm if it’s an afternoon session) if your child is not going to be in that day on 01733 343278. This is so we can record and know what children are in that day.

Fee’s

Please check the deadline date for your fees to be paid as you could risk a late fee. Please make sure you look at the deadline and ensure it is paid unless you already have an agreement in place. We accept bank transfers, or you can bring cash to the setting.

30 hour funding code

If you are in receipt of 30-hour funding, remember that every 3 months you have to reconfirm your code or it will expire and we will not be able to claim it. You should get an email reminder.

Getting to know us!

HI I’M BETH! I have worked at Bright Stars for over a year now, and I am based in the baby room. My hobbies are going to concerts and looking after my many pets including Guinea pigs, tarantulas and geckos! I am level 3 qualified in childcare and education and I have worked for the star’s family for 7 and a half years!

Birthdays this month

We have a number of children who will be celebrating their birthdays in March. If anyone would like a cake ordering, please let the office know who will give you an order form.

Well done to our February stars of the weeks:

Babies:

  • Melanie & Freya

Pre-school:

  • Harris, Musa, Sundari, Jenson, and Savannah.

Core stories

Every month the children explore a new core story. The story is chosen by the children and incorporates activities they are exploring within the room.

Baby room – Dear zoo

Pre-school – Super Tato

Forest School – Rhyming Rabbit

Do you have these stories at home? Why not read them to your child and see how well they know them?

Forest School with Josh

Josh has so much planned this month including getting ready for spring – planting in the allotment and getting muddy! Josh will be reading his core story this month: The Rhyming Rabbit.

Family photo’s

Please can we ask that you email us a family picture. We have a family board in each of our home bases and its nice for the children to talk about you. [email protected]

Review us!

On our door there is a QR code for daynurseries.co.uk, if you scan it while you wait and do us a small review – we would really appreciate it! Or just search for us and drop us a review.

Home Learning

We have been sending home a weekly task for you to do at home with your children as we feel this will really benefit the children and keep that strong link with Nursery during this lockdown. We would love it if you could ALL get involved and upload your homework to the Babysdays app and let us know how the activity went!

Correspondence & COVID

The best way to contact you all is by email so please keep an eye on them weekly for any updates coming through. If it goes into junk, please add mail to white list to stop this happening again. If you need to contact us, please do so on [email protected] or call us on 01733 343278.

If your child shows COVID symptoms, you must keep them at home for 10 days or do a COVID test. If someone in your household is going for a test, everyone in the household must isolate until the results are in. Please let us know at your earliest convenience when a member of your child’s household is getting a COVID test.

“THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE DURING THE PANDEMIC. WE REALLY APPRECIATE IT!”
