Bright Stars – January 2021

Welcome back to all our families

Staff Changes/news

As you are not always getting to see all staff members due to the pandemic, we will be getting to know 1 staff member in each monthly newsletter. This month’s member of staff is Helen. Helen is our bank member of staff who supports both rooms.

For the next few weeks, Emma will be having some time off with her daughter so will not be at work, we will see her when she’s back soon though. ?.

Safia will be spending some time in the pre-school room to support Emma’s key children and Beth will be supporting the baby room with Kimmy.

If you have any questions – please speak to a member of staff ?

Absence

Please inform the office by 9am (or 2pm if it’s an afternoon session) if your child is not going to be in that day on 01733 343278. This is so we can record and know what children are in that day.

Fee’s

Please check the deadline date for your fees to be paid as you could risk a late fee. Please make sure you look at the deadline and ensure it is paid unless you already have an agreement in place. We accept bank transfers, or you can bring cash to the setting.

All about me questionnaire’s

Have you returned yours yet? If not, please do so at your earliest convenience. If you need another copy, please speak to the office.

We are open!

As per guidance, we are open as usual for all. Please call or email me with any questions you may have.

Thank you everyone for all your support in this pandemic. Please continue to wear your masks in the new year when dropping off/collecting your child. We are doing our best to keep your little ones and us safe, and by you wearing your mask too – that really helps.

Getting to know us!

HI I’M HELEN.

I work in both the baby and preschool rooms as and when needed. I have worked at Bright Stars since January 2020. Previously I worked for over 15 years as a Enhanced Resources Teachings Assistant so have lots of special needs experience. I gained my City and Guilds Learning Support Assistant qualification. I am very friendly, chatty and love helping others. I love reading and supporting children to help reach their potential. I love to dress up and have fun with the children. I live with my husband and have two grown up children, a boy and a girl who have both recently left home.

Core stories

Every month the children explore a new core story. The story is chosen by the children and incorporates activities they are exploring within the room.

Baby room – Pardon said the Giraffe

Pre-school – The Gruffalo’s child

Forest School – The snowy day

Do you have these stories at home? Why not read them to your child and see how well they know them?

Home Learning

We will be sending home a weekly task for you to do at home with your children as we feel this will really benefit the children and keep that strong link with Nursery during this lockdown. We would love it if you could ALL get involved and upload your homework to the Babysdays app and let us know how the activity went!

New COVID restrictions

As you probably are aware, we are in a National Lockdown. So what does this mean?

This means we must stay at home as much as possible, you must only leave your house and travel for essential reasons which are listed here:

  • shop for necessities, for you or a vulnerable person.
  • go to work, or provide voluntary or charitable services, if you cannot reasonably do so from home.
  • exercise with your household (or support bubble) or one other person, this should be limited to once per day, and you should not travel outside your local area.
  • meet your support bubble or childcare bubble where necessary, but only if you are legally permitted to form one.
  • seek medical assistance or avoid injury, illness or risk of harm (including domestic abuse).
  • attend education or childcare – for those eligible.

Stay safe everyone!
